Braving The Elements!

Kudos to all the folks not letting the rain get them down!  Found homes for the awesome ladies Trek Hybrid (no surprise there!  She was GORGEOUS!) also sent the old school Free Spirit Road Bike home with a very enthusiastic young man and his lady who are happily becoming CONVERTS!!!  YAY!!!  Their plan is to reconstruct their lives based around the needlessness of their car!  Once we find a ride for her they are going to return the car to the dealership and tell 'em "here ya go!"  BRAVO!  Now if just more and more people would find the courage to "Just Say No" we would have a much better world!  it's things like this that make me break out my wingtips and do the "Happy Dance"!  OH Lord, what else has been happening?
Oh Yes!  Thanks so very much to one of our half a dozen of fans who popped in the other day to say hi!  Seems he took my advice and rented "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn" prior to going to see "Star Trek 2: Into Darkness" (confused yet?) and admitted happily that it made certain moments of the new film more poignant when in comparison.  Thanks for all the kind words sir and look forward to visiting with you again!  Also on the "wouldacouldashoulda" front.  How many times do I have to STRESS the necessity of impulse buying!?  Simply put, around here if you see something you like DON'T HESITATE!  GRAB IT!  the likelihood of it still being around after you have "thought about it" is slim to none.  Case in point:  The GORGEOUS, EXCELLENT CONDITION ladies Trek hybrid we had.  Some folks seem to think I am giving them the "salesman yank on the chain" when I tell them just how unusual it is for us to get a gem like that in that kind of condition.  Several folks viewed it yesterday and we had a LOT of email chatter on it.  A few of the folks said they would "consider" it.  Some folks, via e-mail asked several very astute questions regarding the bike, but as a side note, please keep in mind that I don't spend all day on the computer, and after about 11. in the am I am away from it doing...you know....work (or at least what is thinly disguised as such) so the response time to email diminishes.  Well two of the emailers were left hanging for about 3 hours as I was putting out more goodies (pics below) so by the time I got back to them the bike had already sold.  They were none to happy.  BUT, thems the breaks!  And to the the three individuals who DID come back in after "considering" it?  Sorry.  But one smart gent from Saint Pete wasn't as hesitant.  He saw a good deal when he knew it!  Snagged it right up!  So the morale of our story is "Carpe Diem"!
No on to our unfortunately regular feature.....
DUM, DUM....DUMB!
"TEENAGE IDIOCY!!!
Yes!  In our children's ever vigilant attempt to drive mom and dad insane by acts of mind boggling stupidity teenager number two strikes again!!
Apparently, getting suspended from school a scant few days before it's end  for ONCE AGAIN playing chicken with school buses in the restricted bus lane was not enough for our antihero young Kaleb!  OH NO!  As he was sent home from the shop he decided to take a detour and enter the school to "say hi to his friends" although being expressively informed NOT to return to school grounds during his suspension.  And OH NO the lunacy does not end there!  Even though he was vividly captured on video surveillance he attempted to deny it.  Of course employing the well worn "It wasn't me" defence he attempted to evade persecution.  To no avail.  Ever the crack detective force the school quickly snapped into action....four hours later.   And much to my giddy joy contacted the police to press trespassing charges.  Hoping that perhaps THIS would be the reality slap he needed.
Nope.  I was wrong.
He was picked up at the house in a police cruiser and hauled away (much to Angela's mortification)  and brought in for processing.  As trespass is a misdemeanor charges his processing took about two hours and they contacted us to come pick him up.  I informed them that I was working and momma was at home with the kiddos and there was no way I could get him until later in the evening.  Instead of making him stew in his juices in a holding cell they quickly offered up a ride back to the house from...you guessed it!  ANOTHER police car!  And of course perfect timing as it was right about the time all our neighbors come home from work.
Joy.
And was he contrite? Penitent? Rueful? Remorseful?
Oh please!
Basically attitudinal about being inconvenienced, and blissfully incredulous as to why he couldn't sit and watch TV.
Oh yes.  THIS is what we have to deal with!
Any of you folks out there have any such teenager stories to tell?  I'd LOVE to hear 'em!
You know what they say!
