Wow. Another phenomenal Sunday! Met so many cool folks in and out today. Love the fact that Angela and I converted an entire family today!!! Dad came in to buy a bike to "get back in shape" and he fell for the XR-75 slightly modified of course. He's a TALL guy. And in the process outfitted his wife and two girls with bikes as well! OK truth be told, I gave the youngest girl a little 16" barbie princess bike with training wheels. I couldn't help it! She got on it as soon as they came in and was riding up and down the store and LOVED it (she was so CUTE!) , I couldn't see her leaving without it. I always say a bike will always find its owner! His parents and I tried (in vain) to convert a young BMX'r to mountain bikes, but he wouldn't be turned. But hey that's cool, parents just thought he'd like more'n 1 speed to get to school. Ended up that later in the day a father trying to do the same thing with HIS son ended up buying the bike the other folks were looking at, the little Honda Racer. The Huffy Black Widow did not last (didn't think so), guy walking by the shop saw it and did a double take, came in and snatched it up, right quick. Gave him a little price break as he didn't have the full amount on him, but that's cool, it's nice to see people get excited about riding again! Young man and his mom came in looking at the sweet Mongoose BMX we got. Mom told him he could have what ever he wanted (can she be my mom?) but he choose the less expensive Huffy ($15 as opposed to $50) because it "felt better". Hey that's whats important! No point in buying a bike and riding it if it don't feel right, right? Sold the little 6 speed magna, little girls gonna run with the big boys! As always my wife's Ross got many inquiries (and had I not stepped in would have sold it when she was offered $175.00) but turned those folks on to a '68 Schwinn we just brought up from the garage to rebuild. Yes that's right we've FINALLY started dipping in to the garage!
AND speaking of Vintage... A VERY NICE gentleman and his lovely companion came in today with two very much in need of TLC vintage Raleigh's. He decided to trade in his 1969 Raleigh Tourist (with POLE BRAKES!!!!) for the ladies Colt to be re-furbed. NO PO-BLEM-O! 28" tires all original ('cept the seat!!) I don't do it often, but this gem IS MINE!!! Will post pics tomorrow (as my phone is having a temper tantrum tonight) Well, gonna go on and git now, as dinner awaits and an evening with Iron Man 2 awaits!!
