Living good and honest at times may seem a chore, but trust me it pays off. Signed the lease for our new place this morning! (no not the shop, our house) Now I can get excited! I always remain reserved until I have signed papers in hand, regardless of what it is. And as I rode back to the shop (took the Giant on a road test....SWEET!) I began to think. It has been an odd series of events that lead us to this point, Had we not lost out on the other house on our street, had the electricity not failed in our old house, had we not moved into the weekly rental place, had my wife not gone to the little yard sale a month ago, we would never had even KNOWN about this place, and its AWESOME! HUGE family room in the back with enough room for a sectional couch AND my pool table, 4 bedrooms a HUGE dining room (the busiest meeting place in our home, we practically live in that room) an ENORMOUS kitchen (yes THIS place has an ACTUAL kitchen, with a stove and counters and everything) LARGE 2 car garage with built in work space (heheheh now they'll NEVER see me!) And a private bathroom for mom and dad! Plus 2 more, and ones in the garage (Now they'll REALLY never see me!...gonna have to put book shelves in that one!) and a big back yard (FENCED IN!) so I don't have to use the perimeter barrier (the kids would ALWAYS whine that the shock collars were itchy....kiddin' (but then again?)) and it's even closer to the shop, can practically see it from the front door! Looking at about two weeks before we can move in but it's worth the wait.
Now I just gotta get some new (to us) furniture. Are you kidding? NEW furniture? With OUR kids!?!?! I sometimes think we should get a love seat for mom and dad, and wrestling mats for them.
Thank you to another of Kerri's group who brought all the care packages by last night. The kids LOVED the toys and the KFC, argued over both. But take that as a compliment.
Angela is doing OK, although having some difficulty dealing with the after effects of the anesthesia. She never has been able to deal with the toll it takes on her. Her body will naturally fight anything that doesn't belong there.
SO yesterday was a good day here. Sold the GORGEOUS ladies Royce Union, and a gentleman put a deposit on the '54 Raleigh Tourist for a full mechanical re-build. Several wonderful folks came in looking, but we are still re-building the stock. Finally put out the Giant Boulder SE. OH, how nice that thing moves! Zombie-Boy has been putting the finishing touches on the re-pairs and bringing us up to speed. I've got another MTB almost done, then will be starting on the Schwinn Jet. Amongst others!
So here looking at a busy day!
Oh and when stopping by the old house this morning to feed and visit the cats, the newest one is now up and moving on (his/her?) own. Check out this little sweetie!
Does this mean Mom will be there when you are moving?
ReplyDeleteIf so, send me pictures...(Heh, heh!)

It may mean just that. But you know the tradition in our family, we only visit long enough to say Hi, but not so long as to become usefull (HA HA HA)
