It takes all kinds. Many have said it in many ways in many languages but it has never been more true for those working in re-tail!
But before I get to that, I keep forgetting to mention some of our newest viewers! I don't always re-member to check "Blog Stats" but I did this morning and notice some new peeks from, Denmark, Croatia, Israel, Cayman Islands and Singapore! Thank you all for jumping into our Gumbo! "Hot and SPICY, Texas style!"
Now I was raised (by my wife) to always be pleasant, polite and patient (OH yea...I'm the picture of civility...) at least I can fake it! It's just I can carry on a conversation, provided that the conversation has some sort of relevance. Well today I was visited by "Capt Linger" Apparently he holds the patents on 12 different bicycle designs, 2 revolutionizing self generating electricity, he owns 7 homes across the world, 17 cars (3 with chauffeurs on call) and is visiting the area planning to purchase most of downtown Clearwater. (the Old Road master he's riding is just a loner)
O.........K.
Hey I don't mean to make fun (OK a little)
Well with those auspicious beginnings, today was a HOOT! Filled the orders for our (one of) local Vintage Schwinn enthusiasts. This man has quite a collection of old school Chicago Schwinn's (yes these are real! we''ve serviced several of them!)
The Specialized Hard Rock lasted longer then I anticipated it took about 3 hours to sell.
The Road master posted last night sold about 10 minutes later. Side note: If you see something you like when you come in, and know you want it let us know, drop a small deposit to hold i when you go to get the Cash ya know? Don't assume that what you see here is going to be here when you get back in an hour. And please if it's not don't get angry with the staff. Please. Happens all to often around here. Had a gentleman call from Safety Harbour about the Road master, said he was on the way to check it out. In the meantime, a couple folks checked it out as well. One Gentleman said he really liked it, test rode it, liked the way it felt. Then said thank you and left. The man from Safety Harbor came in 10 minutes later and bought it. 45 minutes later the other guy came back with the cash to buy it, and upon finding out it was gone became snooty. Asking why we didn't hold it for him. 2 things, first if you want us to hold it, you have to ask, and second, it's customary to leave a deposit. Around here (through much experience) we've developed the policy...first come, first serve.
And to the young lady who purchased the Specialized "Merry Christmas to yourself!" it is the time of year forgiving, so why not give to yourself!
Well Mikes been busy with re-pairs today and I'm still putzin with the the Dahon (part of the paint got schmutz by the newspaper masking) and I started another scratch build BMX repaint, it looks to be a GTHARODYNO-Goose. But your honest opinion...do you think neon green, with hot pink accents? Too Much? Hope not.
Well with that I gotta git on and git!
